I’m a loyal subscriber of Sun Cellular ever since they launched their service in 2003. I was part of the few people who beta-tested their network during those days. Unfortunately, these people don’t care about loyalty. The only thing they want is profit.

I’ve been re-loading my Sun Cellular prepaid sim with P150 text unlimited every month, and just recently the P200 text unlimited variant. I made a mistake this afternoon, instead of converting my prepaid load to Text Unlimited P200, I sent the keyword for Text Unlimited P150. I immediately asked their hotline to cancel my transaction, but instead they gave me cold answer that goes something like this –> “We have your load and you’ll never get it back!”

In other words, they won’t cancel my transaction even though I’ve been a regular user since 2003 and the transaction happened a few minutes before I called their hotline.

Ma’am, we apologize however, once you have converted your load, it is no longer possible to cancel the registration. Also, please be informed that the transaction is self-initiated that triggers the system to convert your load, thus the system automatically capture the type of load you purchased. Thank you.

I encountered a similar problem with Globe Telecom a few years ago and I got my prepaid credits back a few minutes after I called their hotline. Globe even added P250 as a way of saying sorry.

This is not the first time I had problems with Sun Cellular. Their customer service is so bad I don’t even know why I am still a subscriber. Maybe because of their cheap rates. But cheap rates come with a price. Poor service. Poor customer relations.

Then just this afternoon, I learned about Globe Telecom’s new BlackBerry Plans for Christmas. For almost the same amount I am spending on Sun Cellular, I can get a free BlackBerry phone and unlimited mobile surfing. I can even get consumable credits if I get a slightly higher plan.

Most of my friends are on Globe Telecom more than half of them are on BlackBerry. For as low as P599 a month, I get a free BlackBerry phone and unlimited mobile internet. With that, I am no longer limited to SMS. I can send them messages and pictures via BlackBerry Messenger. I can update my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Unlimited Internet. Unlimited Messaging. Unlimited YM. AND A FREE PHONE! Isn’t that exciting?  These are way better than the crappy SMS of Sun. Unlimited nga sila na mura, hindi naman dumadating mga messages!

My cousin built me and my sister a homemade laptop table from left over plywoods from our recent house renovation. These tables cost between P500 to P1000 pesos if you buy them from stores.

To make it look presentable, I painted them pink and placed some colorful paper cut outs. And for a smooth finished, I covered it with vinyl I bought from ACE Hardware.

Do-it-yourself  laptop tables are way cheaper than those in the malls. Thank you Kuya Roger our laptop tables. =)

I asked Jepoy to accompany me today at Paco, Manila to get my free Globe Tattoo Broadband. It’s a freebie from Acer when I bought an Acer Aspire 4736Z last December. Anyway, on our way home, a speeding tricycle came out of nowhere and hit the right bumper of our vehicle. If you know Jepoy, he’s one of the most careful, if not, the most careful driver I know.

Just imagine how shocked I was when that tricycle hit us.

The tricycle driver, instead of inspecting the damage, sped off. We cornered him several blocks away. Jepoy told me that our speedometer maxed out at 60km/hr during the chase. Imagine, a tricycle traveling at 50-60km/sec! I checked the bumper and found out that our left signal light was damaged and also lots of deep scratches on our bumper.

I asked for the driver’s license and he showed us one, problem is, he’s not the one on the picture! I asked his name, his date of birth, address, and every information found on the license and he failed to answer any of them correctly. This is were he admitted that he has no driver’s license and the registration permit of his tricycle has already expired. We brought the driver and his tricycle to Jepoy’s barangay since the accident happened on their boundary.

We called his operator and we’ve agreed to settle the issue tomorrow, no questions asked, but the last minute, this operator questioned the validity of Jepoy’s driver’s license. Baka daw peke lisensya ni Jep… This irked Jepoy’s dad and uncle who happened to be there too since their house is just a stone’s throw away from the Barangay Hall. We then decided to file a blotter about what happened.

The officials at the barangay hall told us to either go to the other barangay (accident happened there) for the barangay blotter or go straight to the traffic police at Balintawak. We had the tricycle impounded at Brgy. Bungad, which happens to be the barangay where my former college professor and CISCO instructor is currently serving as barangay captain.

If the driver had a license, didn’t run off,  and the operator had his permit, we could have just let them go. It’s only a signal light and a bumper scratch. Compared to the driver, we can manage. But their arrogance is unacceptable

We’ll meet with the operator tomorrow at the barangay and ask for full payment of all the damages to our vehicle. It’s up to the police or barangay to file cases regarding their violations, all I want now is the payment for everything Ford will charge me.

I was already seeing some pity on Jepoy’s face (a rare sight especially when it involves lawless people) when the driver was being interrogated at the barangay. I know driving a tricycle may be his only income, we gave him a chance but he and his operator blew it. We have laws, and these laws should be followed.

As what they always say, better late than never! So allow me and Mocha to greet all of you a Happy New Year!

Wow! It’s been a month since I’ve last posted something here. I’ve been… busy

Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who helped us in our Ondoy fundraiser. You guys helped 150 families in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City! I just hope that what happened last September 26th will never happen again.

By the way, my baby Mocha celebrated her 3rd Food Day (birthday) last Sunday. No cakes this time as Mocha is on a strict diet. Promise. Jepoy came with a box of Goldilock’s mamon while I gave her a cute pair of socks I ordered online from Hong Kong. Speaking of gifts and Hong Kong, my mom gave me an early Christmas present -A 4 day trip to Hong Kong and Shenzhen China.

We’ll be leaving at 4AM today and I’m really excited since this will be my first trip outside the country. I’ve already borrowed Jepoy’s Acer Aspire One netbook since my laptop is huge. Sayang yung space sa bag. Hopefully, the internet connection at the hotel is cheap (or free).

Sorry if I wasn’t able to update my blog the past week as I have been very busy helping my aunt, her family, and their barangay. My Aunt lost her house last September 26, 2009 due to Typhoon Ondoy, and so do most of her neighbors.

September 26, 2009 is the worst day of my life.

11:00am

My tita called for help since flood waters have entered their house in Barangay Sta. Lucia – Novaliches, Quezon City and was already knee deep. I immediately went there with my godfather. Normally, travel time is only 30 minutes, but that day, it took us more than 1 hour.

12:30pm

When we arrived, flood inside my aunt’s house was already neck deep. I told my cousins, nephews and nieces to run (or swim) for the car as the water is rising very fast. In a matter of minutes, their house was gone.

1:00pm

People are already swimming everywhere and you can see panic. I wanted to help them but our Everest is full and all we can do is watch them flee their homes. Most of the streets were already flooded and impassable for small cars, so when I saw a street that’s waist deep, I drove our SUV and prayed that we get to the other side.

2:45pm

We managed to get out of Barangay Sta. Lucia, but most of Quirino Highway were also flooded. I brought my cousins and their kids to my grandmother’s house at the back of ABC-5 since roads to our subdivision were flooded.

3:30pm

I called my youngest sister and informed her that we cannot go home. I was shocked when she told me that flood waters have also engulfed more than half of our subdivision and water was already inside our garage. She and Mocha were alone at home. I wanted to go home but roads to our subdivision are all impassable, even to rubber boats as the currents were very strong.

I told my sister to get all the important documents and give it to our neighbor in case water enters our home. I was checking them every 20mins. I can’t sleep and eat that day because the rain won’t stop.

Me and my cousins went to our house first thing in the morning. We’re all shocked to see the damage Ondoy has brought to our subdivision. Damage to our subdivision was nothing compared to what happened to my cousins’ home at Barangay Sta. Lucia in Novaliches. Their house was completely destroyed by Ondoy, and so do most of their neighbors.

I guess we’re still lucky since no one got hurt.

Up to this day, aunt’s family is living with us. Most of the residents of Sta. Lucia are seeking shelter at the evacuation center since they have no more homes to return to.

GAMEOPS DONATION DRIVE

My GameOPS family saw what happened to that Barangay. They all wanted to help everyone, but they can’t. Glen, Rocky, Jepoy and Mark decided to focus aid on Barangay Sta. Lucia since there are other places that have far worse conditions compared to Sta. Lucia.

People on this barangay lost not just their homes, but their livelihoods as well. Some even lost their lives. Let’s all help them stand up and start a new life. I know our efforts are just temporary but it’s still a start.

We’re targeting at least US$500 so we can purchase food, water and medical supplies. We’re also accepting used clothing, canned goods (preferably those ready to eat), medicines (for: fever, diarrhea, cough, colds, fungal infections, etc.), and personal hygiene (soap, shampoo, sanitary napkins, toothpaste, toothbrushes, underwear, footwear, cleaning supplies).

Barangay Sta. Lucia – Novaliches, Quezon City After Ondoy

Yes folks! What you’re seeing is my first chicken adobo. I can cook rice using a rice cooker and I can also fry and boil almost anything and the best of all, I can heat food using our microwave! But this Chicken Adobo is the first real dish I’ve cooked myself… with my mother’s help on the preparation though. She was guiding me on every step

I didn’t measure our ingredients, only estimates. Anyway, here’s what you’ll need if you want to try out Princess Mocha’s Chicken Adobo.

INGREDIENTS:

• chicken – 1/2 kilo
• soy sauce – (3/4 cup estimate)
• vinegar – (3/4 cup estimate)
• garlic (crushed)
• onion (chopped)
• pepper
• water – (1/4 cup estimate)

HOW TO :

1. Put all the ingredients in a pot, and let it boil until chicken is tender. Then set aside.
2. Saute garlic until golden brown then add everything in step1.
3. Season with salt and pepper according to your prefer taste. You can also add a pinch of sugar if you want it a bit sweet.
4. Serve with hot steamed rice.

The taste? Well, my mama, sister, cousin and my baby Mocha ate everything. Not bad for a beginner I suppose.

Please stop stalking me, Jepoy and all of his friends and family. You should learn to accept and admit your mistakes. Everyone has been pointing this out to you. Be a man. Face your responsibilities and don’t hide behind your keyboard. Say sorry to everyone you have involved in this 2-year old issue, especially innocent people like my friend Pepper.

I am also demanding that you remove any defamatory remarks and pictures against me on your blogs and websites. I have already consulted this with Jepoy and if you don’t we will resort to legal actions.

I am saying this because you are in UK and you probably know about your law regarding online harassment? If you don’t know, read it here.

…if someone in England and Wales is harrassing someone abroad by means of letters e-mails etc. and the Police in England and Wales are iformed of this then the offender  could be arrested for criminal harrasment and prosecuted regardless of the fact the victim was abroad.

May this serve as your final warning Mr. Cumper. I have tolerated your insults for the past two years and I believe now is the time to stop.

I was having a picnic with my family at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife when jepoy informed me that Saver, the Wonder Dog died last February 2009 due to cancer. Saver’s trainer, Jun Lazarte didn’t inform the media when Saver died. He just announced it today on ABS-CBN’s Matang Lawin program

I love watching Saver on TV and I remember myself being clued to the TV whenever Saver is on. I’ll miss you Saver. Thanks for all the happy memories! Mocha says goodbye too
